ILA provides the highest quality of legal assistance at reasonable cost. We seek to reasonable cost. We seek to reasonable settle cases. Needless antagonism can greatly add to the cost of any result and a trial is frequently not a desirable outcome.
We recognize principles of tribal sovereignty, the need of tribal self-reliance and the need to balance those with the local government. Indian Legal Affairs believes that tribal enterprises must be consistent with the goals and purposes of state law and local ordinances.
Company Profile
In 1985, Mr. Schmit organized the law firm which in now Schmit Law Office. The firm’s first home was in a historic Victorian Cameron-Stanford House on the shore of Lake Merritt in Downtown Oakland. As the firm grew, it relocated to Old Oakland Historic District in 1988 where it remains today.
